Classes are designed to focus the mind as well as strengthen and tone the body. In yoga, we move to the breath. In Danceyoga™, we move to the breath and the rhythm. Students will learn proper alignment and breathing techniques. Unlike other yoga classes, students concentrate on learning the movement-combination instead of letting their minds wander from pose to pose. As a result, the sequence or choreography serves as a sort of meditation, drawing students into the present moment. There is also room during class to improvise between postures, allowing students to find their personal expression and concentrate on the specific areas of the body they want to open and strengthen. By the time we're done, we're having so much fun jammin' to the music and sweatin', we don't even realize how hard we've worked!
